Grosjean: a frustrating spin at the French GP

Romain Grosjean has shown great potential since the start of the weekend in his national Grand Prix by setting promising times in practice. The pilot Haas was the only one of the three French people in the field to reach Q3 at Paul-Ricard and had the ambition to obtain a good position on the grid, but the 2011 GP2 Series champion made a mistake by ending up in a wall of tires.

“It’s a good position, but we hoped to do better given the potential of the car, regretted on Canal+ the one who will start from tenth place. We have been performing well since the start of the weekend and the developments made in Canada are working. I would like us to understand what happened because I cannot explain this spin. »

“I was very fast, the car has been working well since the start of the weekend. I wanted to start with new tires at the start of Q3 because of the risk of showers. The team finally decided to use worn tyres, but they didn't change the settings on the front wing...It sucks.", he blurted out.

Romain Grosjean is all the more frustrated as he is still chasing his first points this season after a series of errors and bad luck.

“The team had to change the engine and I went back to an early version. We had an evolution planned for a car. We drew lots and it’s Kevin (Magnussen) who got it. I can’t say luck has returned, but it’s Sunday’s result that will count.”, added the Frenchman who will start just behind his teammate Kevin Magnussen.
