The first Chinese driver in the history of Formula 1 looks back on his very encouraging debut in the Grand Prix, marked in particular by his first point obtained in Bahrain. He tells us about his ambitions for the year and his new popularity in China.

You scored in your first Grand Prix in Bahrain, then followed up with 11th positions in Jeddah and Melbourne, and an unfortunate 15th place in Emilia-Romagna. How do you judge your debut?

I'm more than happy with how my debut is going. I believed I could achieve the results I hoped for, but I also knew it would take time. From Bahrain, I was able to show a good part of my potential with my little experience. Since then, we have encountered a few more difficulties. In Jeddah, we received a drive-through which surely deprived us of points. In Melbourne, it was my first on this circuit. I was unlucky with the Safety Car. At Imola, I discovered driving in the rain for the first time, with the use of intermediate tires that I had not yet experienced.
