Guanyu Zhou promoted to Renault test driver

Member of the Renault Sport Academy since last year, Guanyu-Zhou rises in rank and becomes Renault test driver F1 Team in 2020.

As such, the Shanghai native will work ever more closely with the F1 team by being present at races, test days and simulator sessions at enstone to improve performance on the track.

Best beginner of the championship Formula 2 with a 7th place in the final standings, 5 podiums, 2 best laps in the race, and 1 pole position, Zhou will continue to evolve in the official F1 antechamber with the objective of playing for the title there.

“It’s a new step after being at the development station with a lot of work in the simulator and tests with the R.S.17 last year,” said the Chinese driver. I will have to work even harder and obtain as much information as possible for Formula 1 while progressing in the areas on which the team must work in order to support it in its future objectives.”

Zhou has already confirmed within the UNI-Virtuosi structure in Formula 2 where he will team up with Callum Ilot, member of the Ferrari Driver Academy.
