The reaction was quick. Two days after the broadcast of a report on PBS claiming that the company Haas Automation still supplied machines and parts to Russia despite American sanctions, the Californian company flatly denied the allegations made by the public channel. A global machine tool giant, Haas Automation exports quantities of equipment internationally, including to Russia. The American company claims to have ceased all collaboration following the outbreak of the war in Ukraine on February 24, 2022. PBS affirms on the contrary that deliveries continued well after and that Haas still provides parts, software, and service afterwards. -sales to its Russian customers.
Haas products are believed to be used by Russian companies contributing to the war effort against neighboring Ukraine.
The Haas team, whose main partner is the eponymous company founded by Gene Haas, shared the denial of its funder.
« As Haas Automation stated in an official statement, this report is simply false, both in its general content as well as many specific assertions, can we read in the Haas press release F1 Team shared this Thursday morning.
– Haas Automation has always scrupulously respected the measures taken by the American government in export control.
– No machines have been delivered by Haas Automation to Russia since March 3, 2022.
– The 18 machines mentioned in the report left Haas factories before Russia's invasion of Ukraine.
– Haas took the initiative to end its collaboration with its Russian distributor, which had never been requested by the American authorities.
– Haas Automation fully supports Ukraine and its people in its defense against Russia.
On March 3, 2022, days after the Russian invasion of Ukraine began, Haas Automation completely terminated its relationship with its sole independent distributor in Russia and Belarus, Abamet Management.
Since that date, Haas has not sold or supplied any parts or software to Abamet or anyone in Russia. This crucial information was communicated to PBS before the report aired.
Haas Automation has been building machine tools for over 30 years and there are currently over 200 Haas machines in operation worldwide. Haas has always respected American export control policies and sanctions. Haas is a strong supporter of the U.S. policies these measures embody ».
We will remember that the Haas F1 Team immediately separated from its Russian driver Nikita mazepin and its title sponsor Uralkali after the start of the war in Ukraine last year.

Presumption of innocence certainly but there is no smoke without fire! And business is business... since, in another register, Westerners would still obtain supplies from the Russians for the nuclear fuel for certain power stations!
