For several Grands Prix, Haas plays the stability card. The American team has never made any significant changes to its car, and runs with essentially the same package from Bahrain. Günther Steiner always argued that the VF-22 was sufficiently efficient to allow developments to be delayed. Moreover, he was vindicated after the good results at Silverstone and in Austria.

First hoped for the French Grand Prix, the first new features will finally appear on the Haas in Hungary. “We waited a little longer to make our changes because I think we still have a good pace. Now what we want to do is add performance. We know what they should give us through our development,” confides the Italian director.

In a very short time frame, only an evolution package will be available in Budapest for Haas. Better placed in the championship is Kevin Magnussen who will have the opportunity to pilot the improved version of the VF-22. “Unfortunately, we had some delays in the development phase. Additionally, with the lack of spare parts we had at the start of the season, we fell a bit behind in production and therefore we do not have enough parts for two cars. »

Günther Steiner would also like to thank his team for the work accomplished, to bring its developments before the summer break. “Everyone worked really hard to make this happen, so I’m still very happy that we’re bringing it to a car in Hungary. We want to get some data before the summer break so that we have something to work on when we come back, and if all goes well we will have the developments on both cars [at the start of the school year]. »

For the moment, the content of the developments made by Haas has not been revealed. The American team will seek to return to the points zone in Hungary, after a difficult French Grand Prix.
