Haas still in the points in Monaco?

Haas F1 Team regained color at the Spanish GP on May 10 by managing to place its two VF19s in the points. It was time for the American team which has been struggling since the start of the year to confirm in the race, penalized by poor tire management which degrades the performance of its car.

The route of the next Grand Prix in Monaco contested this weekend could once again complicate the task of Haas F1 Team and its drivers Romain Grosjean et Kevin Magnussen.

“The biggest difference concerns the nature of the track, confirmed Team Principal Günther Steiner. The Barcelona circuit allowed us to put a lot of energy into the tires and we were able to warm them up, unlike the three previous races. We were quite confident that it was going to work in Barcelona and we know that it works on tracks like this. »

“The choice of the softer tires should help us for the next races. Monte-Carlo and Canada (June 9) will not be easy for us, but we will do our best to make our tires work and get a good result.", specified the director of Haas F1 Team.

The US team will be able to focus on qualifying where the VF19 is most comfortable to ensure good positions on the grid. In 2017, Romain Grosjean took 8th place after starting from the same position on the grid.

“You always have to qualify well in Monaco to finish in the points, underlined Günther Steiner, and we are usually very good at this exercise. We must be able to keep the others behind if we start at the front of the grid, even if our race pace is not very good. »
