Haas F1 still on pace in Shanghai?

Haas F1 Team is revising its ambitions upwards after a good start to the season in Melbourne (Australia) and Bahrain achieved by Romain Grosjean author of a sixth and fifth place. The American team, which occupies fifth place in the Manufacturers' Championship, hopes to confirm its position in the first part of the peloton by achieving another convincing performance at the Chinese Grand Prix contested this April 17 in Shanghai.

“Our challenge from now on will be to stay in contact with the big guys”, commented Romain Grosjean, fifth in the Championship tied on points with Kimi Räikkönen. “We’ve had a good start and we have a solid foundation. As a driver, I obviously want even more performance. New elements await us for China and others will follow. I can't wait to test these first developments to see if they work as expected. »

Esteban Gutiérrez did not have the same success since he retired in the first two races.

“It’s true that we surprised a lot of people. We didn’t expect to perform so well.”, added the Mexican. “We still have to be cautious about our expectations because while our car was competitive in Melbourne and Bahrain, we still don’t know how it will perform in China. This event will give us a good overview of the season. We have to prepare for it to become more and more competitive because the other teams are fully developing their cars. »
