Haas F1 Team with Red Bull in the sights


The presentation of the Haas VF-19 which was held this Thursday in London was certainly classic, but the comments made by the members of the team and those of its new title sponsor, the energy drink Rich Energy, did not lack flavor. The American entity clearly seeks to appear as the direct rival of Red Bull Racing even if the road still seems long.

“You have to aim high. If we don't have goals, we achieve nothing, argued Günther Steiner, Team Principal of Haas F1 Team during the presentation. We had the 4th car in the field last year, but I know we finished 5th. Our next step remains Red Bull. We can try, but we will never succeed if we don't try. »

“The three biggest teams will stay ahead because of their resources, highlighted Romain Grosjean. The middle of the board should be pretty close. It will be exciting, but we will be fighting for 4th place in the Championship. It’s something that we have in the back of our minds even if it will take what the car performs in testing. »

If Haas seemed to occupy 4th place in the hierarchy of the field, the US structure had to settle for 5th place behind Renault by pointing 326 points from the Red Bull.

It was certainly William Storey, the CEO of the Rich Energy brand, who was the most daring by presenting himself as a real competitor to Red Bull.

“The Haas staff are brilliant and they are the perfect partner for Rich Energy as we look to take on Red Bull on and off the track, he commented. I think we have already beaten them because we have a nicer car. We are evolving rapidly, taking significant market share. Some of the biggest drinks distributors in Europe have removed Red Bull from their list and our results are starting to speak for themselves. F1 is a wonderful platform for us.
