Haas F1 Team appeal dismissed

The appeal filed before the FIA Tribunal will therefore have been in vain for Haas F1 Team. The American team had seized the entity, following the exclusion of the results of the Italian Grand Prix from the car de Romain Grosjean, deemed non-compliant at the level of its floor.

This is on the basis of a request from Renault Sport F1 Team, arguing that the angles of the element did not respect the directives of the technical regulations, that Haas F1 Team had been found guilty of breaching the said regulations. The American team then rushed to appeal, but did not see the final decision turn in his favor.

The judgment thus specifies that “The Court decided to:

– Confirm decision no. 42 of the stewards of the 2018 Italian Grand Prix
– Confirm the exclusion of the No. 8 car of the Haas F1 team from the 2018 Italian Grand Prix held at Monza
– Order the competent sports authority to draw, if necessary, the consequences of this decision. »

Romain Grosjean therefore definitively loses the points for his sixth place. “Obviously, we are disappointed that we did not win our appeal, indicates Günther Steiner, Team Principal of Haas F1 Team on the team's social networks.

We'll just move forward and look towards the last two races and continue to fight on track, pick up more points and conclude what remains our best season in F1 to date. »

Nick Chester, technical director of Renault Sport F1 Team, indicated for his part that “the technical regulations, and in particular the developments introduced for safety reasons, must be scrupulously respected. We are satisfied with this decision and I would like to thank the Court and the FIA for their work on this matter. The team is now focused on the end of the season. »
