The American businessman has realistic goals for his team's first season. “We have reasonable ambitions hoping for a top ten or two. We will evolve most of the time between tenth and 15th position”, commented Gene Haas at theAssociated Press during winter testing.

“There’s going to be some curiosity about us. People will tell you they come because they love the races, but most want to see who will crash. Many spectators, at least as far as Americans are concerned, will wonder if one can run without going out. added Gene Haas.

Romain Grosjean is for his part optimistic on the bases of the VF-16, the Frenchman being aware that this car is the first of the American team even if it benefits from the support of Ferrari.

“It is very similar to the simulator. This will probably allow us to work twice as fast. I feel comfortable behind the wheel. We can improve some things, but I am satisfied with the evolution of the VF-16”, declared the former GP2 champion.
