Haas: Steiner’s mea culpa towards its drivers

If there are still 4 Grands Prix to compete this year, Haas F1 Team has already missed its season. The American team only occupies 9th place in the championship, 7 points behind.Alfa Romeo while she finished 5th in 2018.

The drivers do not seem to be involved, the management having renewed Romain Grosjean et Kevin Magnussen for next year. The Team Principal instead talks about development errors.

“I don't want to go into specifics on the technical side, but we should have listened a little more to the drivers when they gave their opinion on what the car was doing or not doing. We should have listened to them a little more and looked at the numbers less.”, recognized the director, quoted on the official F1 website.

“That’s what we need to learn from this. We must link pilot feedback with data in order to better understand things and be able to move forward. We would have gone much differently from Barcelona”, he said.

Haas got lost in the wanderings of development, the chassis from the start of the season showing at times more efficient than the last version produced.
