Haas refuses to engage in a 'war of words' with Rich Energy

Haas has an expanded reception this season for European races. It was particularly useful at Silverstone to contain the tide of journalists who came to find out more about Rich Energy's resounding declarations.

Wednesday evening, the energy drink brand announced that it had ended its partnership with Haas F1 Team due to disappointing results for the American team, 9th in the Manufacturers' standings before the British Grand Prix this weekend.

This Thursday morning, Steiner issued a succinct press release in which he assured that Rich Energy remained the title sponsor of the Haas F1 Team and affirmed « not able to comment further ».

« I would like to tell you guys more but I can't, said the Austrian manager to the reporters present in American hospitality. I hope you will respect this position. I don't want to put anyone at risk. The brand will be present on the car this weekend. The rest will be taken care of later.

The trade agreement prevents me from saying more and I don't want to add fuel to the fire. The situation is what it is. I don't know if there will be consequences for the rest of the season. There is a trade agreement that I do not want to detail »

Steiner admitted to being surprised by the murderous tweet thrown out by Rich Energy but added that this kind of annoyance was also part of the job.

« I don't spend my nights thinking about things like this, he explained. I have more urgent matters to deal with, like bringing the car back to a satisfactory performance level. All jobs have aspects that are nicer than others. I believe I demonstrate professionalism. When I tell you I can talk, I do it. This is not the case at the moment.

There is no point in getting into a war of words. I'm not even upset. This is something I have to deal with next week and I will take care of it ».
