Haas still in uncertainty with its brakes

Haas F1 Team will continue to compare Carbon Industrie and Brembo brakes during testing for the Hungarian GP this weekend at the Hungaroring in Budapest (Hungary). The American team claims to be more enlightened after the British Grand Prix at Silverstone where it operated with both systems, Romain Grosjean having driven with French brakes while his teammate Kevin Magnussen continued with the Brembos.

“We have made progress in our understanding with the new brakes, assures Günther Steiner, Team Principal of Haas F1 Team. There is still a step to take because there is no strong braking at Silverstone. This is one of the circuits where brakes are used less compared to other tracks. »

“It’s the opposite in Hungary, adds Günther Steiner. We use the brakes quite a bit without having time to cool them down because there are no long straight lines. You have to take the brake package into the correct operating window so as not to put too much energy into the wheels. We will therefore continue our testing during the first two practice sessions and then decide which system to use in the race. We will only know more after these tests because we are in the middle of an evaluation and testing phase. »

The brake problem seems to particularly disrupt Romain Grosjean's driving, with his teammate Kevin Magnussen showing satisfaction with the braking system.
