Haas wants to bet on stability for 2018

Stability should be the watchword of Haas F1 Team in 2018. After having had to deal with the change in technical regulations on the one hand and the arrival of Kevin Magnussen replacing the Mexican Esteban Gutiérrez for another, Gene Haas would welcome a calmer offseason.

Alongside Romain Grosjean, Kevin Magnussen, a newcomer to the team, however found the right formula which allowed Haas to score as many points (29) in half a campaign as in 2016. « Esteban was a good pilot, recognizes Gene Haas on the F1 website.

He was as fast as Romain in testing, but I think Kevin has an advantage in terms of racing experience. He can score points and that was the deciding factor in bringing him in. Kevin can score points and so can Romain.

We currently have 29 points. Last year we also had 29 points, but we didn't score for the rest of the season (actually 28 to England, then a point scored in the United States). So now if we can score another 29 points until Abu Dhabi, that would be a great position. »

The boss of the team based in Kanaapolis, North Carolina also specifies that he intends to field Grosjean and Magnussen again next year. « Without a major change to the car or a change of engine, and with the same drivers, this should give us good continuity, continues the American.

We will race in 2018 with the same drivers that we have this year. It's obvious. And considering these aspects, we should be better competitors next season. »
