Is Isack Hadjar finding his cruising speed? Regularly well placed for several weeks, while races with different physiognomies follow one another, the Frenchman is showing himself to be more and more demanding, but above all lucid about the capacity of his car to offer him successive beautiful results.

Hailed as the most impressive rookie so far by his peers, notably Kimi Antonelli, who was himself involved, the Racing Bulls driver seemed left wanting more when he finished qualifying in ninth place. Despite qualifying for Q3, he still wanted more.

« Honestly, I'm not really satisfied. It was difficult to drive on this track. The balance of the car wasn't really consistent, he detailed to the microphone of the F1It was a bit hit and miss at every turn, and I had little confidence. But despite that, I managed to do a solid job. Even on one of our worst days, we finished P9, so from a certain point of view, it's still positive."

A costly misunderstanding for Hadjar

Asked to explain the reasons for the incident experienced with Carlos Sainz At the end of the session, Isack Hadjar regretted circumstances where, visibly, the lack of communication cost the Tricolore places. "It's a shame, I'm told that Sainz abandoned his lap, I didn't move over and he was on a flying lap. It's always complicated to manage traffic, especially on a circuit like this..."

"I trust my engineer, that's what I've been doing since the beginning of the year, I've never bothered anyone, so it surprises me a little that it's happening like this." he regretted, before apologizing to his Spanish counterpart. "It was a misunderstanding. Honestly, there was nothing I could do. I'm really sorry for him."

Not yet informed of his penalty at this point, Isack Hadjar will have to make another effective comeback if he hopes to score new points this Sunday. At this point, the vice-champion of Formula 2 remains on three Grands Prix in which he found himself in the top 10 at the finish.
