Hamilton arrives on conquered ground in Montreal

Mercedes AMG F1 Although they are in a delicate situation with the opening of a disciplinary investigation by the FIA concerning their private tests with Pirelli, the Brackley team is showing a smile following Nico Rosberg's victory at the Monaco Grand Prix. If the Monaco track did not allow us to know whether the star manufacturer gained an advantage from its tests, the more abrasive layout of the Gilles Villeneuve circuit could provide some answers. Lewis Hamilton can in any case be confident as the Canadian GP approaches.

The Briton is indeed very efficient on the Montreal track since he has no less than three victories after having won each time he reached the finish (first victory in F1 in 2007, two retirements in 2008 and 2010). “The Gilles Villeneuve circuit is a very important event for me. I was lucky enough to win there three times during my career, including last season. The route itself is special: it is very fast, pleasant to ride and encourages late braking. The track doesn't stray that far from the Monaco circuit because it also requires adjustments to deal with the kerbs. We should therefore be competitive even if tire management will be our main challenge. »

If the Brackley team is more than ever in the spotlight with the Pirelli affair which also includes the Team Ferrari, Lewis Hamilton focuses on the competition and only takes away the positives from the last month. “The atmosphere is good within the team following Nico's victory in Monaco and we will work to ensure further success this year”, concludes the Briton.
