Hamilton executioner of Ferrari at the Mexican GP

Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes) scored his 10th victory of the season, the 83rd of his career, by winning the Mexican GP ahead of Sebastian Vettel (Ferrari) and Valtteri Bottas (Mercedes). The five-time world champion, however, had a bad start, losing several places after contact with Max Verstappen (Red Bull).

The Briton nevertheless benefited from a daring strategy by stopping to put on the hard tires on the 23rd lap. The Mercedes driver then took advantage of the traffic to take the advantage and stay in the lead of the race. However, he will still have to wait to celebrate his 6th coronation by scoring another 4 points in the last 3 races, but offers the star manufacturer its 100th victory in F1.

Started on pole, Charles Leclerc (Ferrari) conversely lost several positions with a two-stop strategy, the last of which was missed and cost him a handful of seconds. The Monegasque finished at the foot of the podium ahead of the Red Bulls ofAlexander albon and Max Verstappen. The Dutchman made a superb comeback after suffering a puncture following contact with Valtteri Bottas (Mercedes) on the first lap. He had previously lost several places while battling with Lewis Hamilton.

Sergio Pérez (Racing Point) takes 7th place at home after resisting Daniel Ricciardo (Renault). Nico Hulkenberg was following his Australian teammate before being hit by Daniil Kvyat (Toro Rosso) in the last round. The Russian finished 9th ahead of his teammate Pierre Gasly before being penalized by 10 seconds and being pushed back to 11th place behind the Frenchman and the German.

 

The McLaren missed their race even though they were well placed. Lando Norris saw his weekend destroyed by a loose wheel during his stop while Carlos Sainz Jr tumbled to 13th position behind Lance stroll (RacingPoint). Antonio Giovinazzi (Alfa Romeo) ranks 14th ahead Kevin Magnussen (Haas), George Russell (Williams), Romain Grosjean (Haas) and Robert Kubica (Williams). Kimi Räikkönen (Alfa Romeo) retired.
