Hamilton: 'It's a strange scenario'

Lewis Hamilton was able to keep his sets of tires for the Belgian Grand Prix since the driver Mercedes is condemned to start from the back of the grid following his Power Unit changes. The Briton only covered one lap on soft tires in Q1 before leaving his W07 Hybrid.

“We're not easily the fastest here. With the temperatures, it's probably the worst time to take penalties.", explained Lewis Hamilton in the paddock of the Spa-Francorchamps circuit.

“I will have a strong degradation starting from the back of the grid. We can count on a race with two or three stops tomorrow because we are having difficulty containing the wear of the tires. It won't be an easy day since I'll have to move up the positions one by one. My tires may be dead after passing three cars. It's a strange scenario, but we'll do our best." added the Mercedes driver.

Lewis Hamilton will try to gain as many places as possible to prevent his teammate Nico Rosberg, who will start from pole, from reducing his 19-point deficit in the Championship.
