Hamilton: “It will be a big year for Formula 1”

What do you think of the news McLaren MP4-25?
" She is magnificent ! I could see all the effort and attention that went into making this car, we did everything to find the performance and you can see that the result is something truly special and very uncompromising. Of course, it is too early to say where we will be compared to our rivals, but after what we showed in the second half of the season last year I sincerely believe that we will be able to maintain this momentum and have a very competitive season. »

In your opinion, what can the duo you form with Jenson Button bring to the team?
“I think one of McLaren?s best assets is the strength of the team and that is felt throughout the organization. We have an incredible team of engineers, people who have been here for years and who have worked with the best, who have participated in the construction of some of the most significant single-seaters in the history of racing. F1. They really wanted to make another fantastic car for the 2010 season.

“Jenson and I are both world champions. I know how proud he is to be part of the team and we will work as hard as possible to develop this car into a champion. I think our duo will be really important this year because there will be as much competition between the drivers as between the teams. The stronger we are, the more likely we are to win races. We all understood it. »

What are your goals for the upcoming season?
“Certainly, I want to be world champion, that’s obvious. But just as important, I want to help the team win the constructor's title. I also want to achieve something bigger this year. I would like to show everyone the strength, passion and deep belief that exists in McLaren.

“I think it will be a big year for Formula 1. There will be four world champions on the grid, including two in our team, and there are, I think, at least four teams that will win races. The 2010 season may bring many fans. That would be great. »
