Hamilton: “This weekend is a bit unusual”

Lewis Hamilton did not give up. The Briton claimed his tenth pole of the season by winning qualifying for the Mexican Grand Prix ahead of teammate Nico Rosberg, while the German has a slim chance of being titled this weekend.

“I felt good all weekend, explained Lewis Hamilton on Sky Sports. I congratulate my team because the car was set up very well. Q3 wasn't very good, but the rest was pretty fantastic. »

Lewis Hamilton was hopeful of reducing his 26-point gap on Championship leader Nico Rosberg when his teammate was only in fourth position, before the latter managed to move to the front row in his second flying lap.

“This weekend is a bit unusual,” added the Briton. He struggled all weekend, but presumably got the job done in the end. He wasn't happy with his set-up and we have an identical set-up now. He was able to find the limits of the car and get the job done on his final lap in Q3. He still shows that he is a great opponent”, added Lewis Hamilton.

The two pilots Mercedes will start with soft tires after qualifying with yellow sidewall tires in Q2.
