Hamilton: “This Mercedes is a work of art”

Lewis Hamilton was never worried at the Abu Dhabi GP. The six-time world champion won for the 5th time on the Yas Marina track by reaching the finish line more than 16 seconds ahead of his closest rival, Max Verstappen (Red Bull). The Briton was a hit by winning the bonus point for the fastest lap in the race, a perfect way to end the season.

“I feel young seeing today’s podium. I was 13 seconds ahead of Max after 13 laps. Our pace on the long stints was efficient. The team helped me a lot and I was able to preserve my tires well”, he explained.

“I am proud and extremely grateful to my team and everyone at Mercedes, added the Mercedes driver. They keep pushing the boundaries. Who would have thought we would finish the season so strong in racing. Even though the championship was over, we kept our heads on track, continuing to see if we could find ways to improve, to improve this incredible car. This Mercedes is a work of art. »
