Hamilton seeks his limits at the Austrian GP

Lewis Hamilton only achieved the 5th fastest time of the first day of testing for the Austrian GP after having missed his attempts on a lap launched at Red Bull Ring. The Briton was on the attack and was surprised several times on this short track where the gaps are small.

“It wasn't the best day, but it wasn't the worst either. I succeeded in some sectors and others not, but I attacked very hard”, explained the double world champion. « We're not going fast enough if we don't make mistakes here. I still have room to improve. Ferrari seems quite fast on this circuit, but we also have good pace. »

If Lewis Hamilton hopes to achieve a 5th victory this season to increase his 17-point lead over his teammate Nico Rosberg, the Briton would like to add the Austrian GP to his list of achievements. “I grew up learning this track in video games before I had the chance to ride it. It was one of my favorite circuits », added the pilot Mercedes. “I had seen the races of Michael Schumacher and Rubens Barrichello and I was really excited to come here last year…”
