Hamilton concludes Barcelona test

On the Montmelo circuit, near Barcelona, the engines fell silent. After a month of testing, including fifteen days of driving, the pre-season testing has come to an end. Eleven teams will have participated, USF1 and Campos will not have shown up.

This Sunday is Lewis Hamilton who stood out. The most frequent driver on the track (134 laps), the Briton also achieved the fastest lap of the day and the week, in 1:20:472. A time completed at the end of the morning, before an afternoon devoted to longer relays.

The 2008 world champion finished in the standings ahead of Mark Webber, who took the wheel early in the afternoon, while Sebastian Vettel drove in the morning. The two pilots Red Bull also set a time under 1?21??, getting closer to the performance of McLaren and Ferrari.

If the Scuderia did not make any sparks this Sunday, Felipe Massa still achieved the third fastest time of the day (1:20:539), validating the potential of a F10 that everyone agrees to define as the most accomplished car.

But the Maranello team does not seem to have thrown all its strength into the battle, just like Mercedes, which must bring developments between now and the Bahrain Grand Prix. So, Michael Schumacher achieved the sixth time of the day, in 1:20:745.

From now on, we will have to wait for the first free practice sessions for the Bahrain Grand Prix, on March 12, to see the cars on track again. Until then, some will have a different look, and we will finally be able to have a clear overview of the hierarchy at the start of the 2010 season.
