Hamilton unfavorable to more Grands Prix

If Liberty Media, the owner of the F1, wishes to increase the number of Grands Prix in the future, some players in the paddock take a dim view of this objective. This is particularly the case for Lewis Hamilton who at 33 years old has 227 starts in the space of 12 seasons.

“I already feel like I’m at the 25th race this year. So I don't think it's a good idea. It was probably the best compromise when there were 18 events.", said the pilot Mercedes who won his 5th title at two Grands Prix at the end of the season.

The Vietnamese Grand Prix has been announced for 2020 while Liberty Media is working to obtain a calendar with an average of 25 appointments.

“I am someone who loves competition, but the season is long, added Lewis Hamilton. It requires a lot of commitment from everyone and it takes us away from our families for a long time. The breaks are getting shorter as the seasons are getting longer. As a pilot, getting back into the saddle happens quickly. We prepare for the next season as soon as the previous one ends, it’s very difficult. Then you have to find a way to recover. I probably won't be here when there are 25 races. »
