Hamilton says he is not thinking about the championship

After two consecutive retirements in Italy and Singapore, Lewis Hamilton managed to regain his health by finishing fifth in Japan, and especially second in Korea. But the last rounds still showed that the MP 4-25 was a little behind in pure performance compared to the F10 and the RB6. Aware that he does not necessarily have the best machine on the field, the 2008 world champion nevertheless believes that his mount will allow him to perform well at Interlagos.

?We go to Brazil knowing that we don?t necessarily have the fastest car, but we have a package that should work well, underlines the pilot McLaren. We have a good engine and a good top speed, so I think we could be fast, and in fact this combination could give us overtaking opportunities in the first corner, which is certainly the best part of this track for overtaking ".

21 points behind the leader Fernando Alonso and 10 on Mark Webber, Hamilton knows he will have to be impeccable this weekend. If Alonso wins, whatever his own result, he will be able to give up his second world crown.

“I know the world championship is on everyone’s minds at the moment, He continues. But I don?t think about it that much. I need a good result in Brazil to be able to fight in Abu Dhabi. That is my priority. Whatever happens, it’s going to be a very close battle.”
