Hamilton hopes for dry weather for Chinese GP

Lewis Hamilton continues to impress as he claimed his third pole of the season at the Chinese Grand Prix despite qualifying in the rain. His performance allowed him to become the fourth pole-sitter in the history of the F1 since the 34th pole of his career allows him to point ahead of Jim Clark and Nigel Mansell and thus become the most victorious Briton in this exercise.

The 2008 world champion will have the opportunity to quickly catch up with his teammate Nico Rosberg, still leading the Championship, who will only start from fourth position behind the Red Bull de Daniel Ricciardo et Sebastian Vettel after missing his last two flying laps. “This pole is all the more satisfying given the soggy conditions. It was so slippery on the track that we had to just find grip without making any mistakes. It was a difficult session but car behaved very well. Some things can still be improved but in any case we are in a good position for the race. »

Despite his domination over the rest of the peloton in the rain where he was more than half a second ahead of his closest pursuer, Lewis Hamilton hopes to fight tomorrow in mild conditions. “I thought it was going to be a great day tomorrow. It's always foggy here and you can never predict what the weather will be like. I hope we will have a dry race because I noticed that the others (Red Bull) were closer in the rain. »

The start of the Chinese Grand Prix will be given tomorrow at 9 a.m. French time. Photos of the tests can be found on this link.
