Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen left their opponents behind during the second practice session for the Singapore GP.

Hamilton and Verstappen far ahead in FP2

Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes) was the fastest in the second practice session of the Singapore GP held at night. With a time of 1’38”773, the championship leader improved the previous benchmark by more than a second. Max Verstappen (Red Bull) in EL1. The Dutchman remained in good shape as he finished almost 2 tenths behind the Briton.

Sebastian Vettel (Ferrari) follows in 3rd position but is more than 8 tenths behind. Behind, Valtteri Bottas (Mercedes) is more than a second behind his teammate. The Finn's W10 was repaired at the break following his exit from the track in EL1.

Alexander albon (Red Bull) completes the Top 5 ahead Charles Leclerc (Ferrari), despite a broken front wing. Nico Hulkenberg (Renault) ranked 8th among the McLaren de Carlos Sainz Jr and Lando Norris. His teammate Daniel Ricciardo was further behind, the Australian finishing 12th behind the Toro Rosso de Pierre Gasly and Daniil Kvyat.

 

Sergio Pérez (Racing Point) took 13th place ahead of Antonio Giovinazzi (Alfa Romeo) and Lance stroll (RacingPoint). Romain Grosjean (Haas) only took 17th position behind Kimi Räikkönen (Alfa Romeo), the Frenchman having spun in the session. He is ahead of George Russell (Williams), Kevin Magnussen (Haas) and Robert Kubica (Williams).

The final practice session for the Singapore GP will be contested this Saturday from 11:45 a.m. and will be broadcast live on Canal+ Sport Weekend.
