Hamilton: “Ferrari looks really strong”

Lewis Hamilton closely observes the preparation of Scuderia Ferrari and the new SF90. The reigning world champion will certainly have to face the car de Maranello in the conquest of a new coronation even if he is the favorite.

“Ferrari looks really strong at the moment, as you can see, commented Lewis Hamilton this morning in the paddock of the Catalunya circuit (Spain) where winter testing is currently taking place. IThey also manage to cover quite a few kilometers. So they seem to have a better package than last year, which means they will be even harder to beat. »

Lewis Hamilton was able to see the Ferrari SF90 at the top of the timesheet at the end of the second day, even if the Briton is aware that performance is always hidden by the teams during these tests. Still, the Briton did not seem particularly triumphant during the press conference.

“We are focused on understanding the car as best as possible. It’s more or less the same thing every start of the season. The Ferraris have always seemed to perform well at the start of the year, especially in recent seasons. We could therefore expect to see this, specifies the Briton. For our part, we seek to provide the best feedback and the best data analysis. We will have a more precise idea next week of the hierarchy that is emerging. »

Lewis Hamilton can still remain confident since Mercedes has never been beaten since the start of the era of 6l V1.6 turbo/hybrid Power Units.

“We are currently fighting against our past. We are looking to raise the level in all areas. No one is slowing down, it was a difficult winter for the staff at the factory. From what I've heard, the hardest thing is this new change to the regulations (especially on the front and rear wings supposed to make overtaking easier), but I believe in my team.", hammered the five-time world champion.
