Hamilton: “We win and lose together”

The disappointment is great for Lewis Hamilton at the Monaco GP. While the pilot Mercedes dominated most of the race, the Briton had to settle for the last step of the podium. The poleman of the Monaco event was called back to the pits by his team following the accident Max Verstappen at Sainte-Dévote causing the intervention of the safety car and came out behind Nico Rosberg and Sebastian Vettel.

Lewis Hamilton remained calm after the Monaco GP and did not want to criticize his team, with which he has just extended his contract for three years. “I can’t describe how I feel right now, but we live to fight another day.”, commented Lewis Hamilton. “It wasn’t the easiest race. The team did excellent work throughout the year. I'll have to win the next one. We win and we lose together. »

“I thought my opponents were going to stop and I asked the team for another stop. They initially told me to stay on the track, but I was worried that the others would start again on super soft tires. I came home thinking the others would follow.”, explained the Briton who sees his teammate Nico Rosberg come back to ten points.

Mercedes F1 admitted to having made an error of judgment in allowing Lewis Hamilton to return. His team felt his lead was enough for him to maintain the lead in the race.
