Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes) came across a bone named Valtteri Bottas (Mercedes). On the fast circuit of Red Bull Ring (Austria), the four-time Formula 1 world champion was beaten consistently by his teammate during qualifying. Not by much (19 thousandths) but still.

“Congratulations to Valtteri, he deserves pole because he has done a remarkable job, recognized, a fine player, the leader of the general. It's going pretty well for me. Right at the end, I made a mistake on the first run, but the second attempt was better. It’s a double for the team, there will be a lot to play for in the race. »
The English driver then explains that the two Mercedes have opted for completely different set-ups. “He chose settings that maybe I should have followed. » The three straights offering DRS could then spice up the course of a usually calming race in Styria. “ We can't follow each other here, there's not a lot of overtaking but with a third DRS zone, we'll see if that changes things. »
Congrats to Valtteri, he produced a fantastic lap. A great result for the Team today. Sights are on the race tomorrow, looking forward to it. #AustrianGP #F1 @MercedesAMGF1 pic.twitter.com/KE16cTVnds

Another spectacle factor, the tire strategies will give Mercedes a disadvantage at the start of the event. The Silver Arrows will leave with super soft rubber (red sidewalls), less grippy than the ultra soft (purple sidewalls) but more durable.
" The Ferrari will leave with the ultra tenders, it will be a little tense to keep Sebastian (Hag) behind us at the start, but I'm going to give my best. » The task will be made easier with the three-place penalty given to the German.
