Hamilton: “I brought out my best game”

Lewis Hamilton dominated qualifying for the Italian Grand Prix by almost half a second ahead of his teammate Nico Rosberg, the only contender likely to be able to counter the Championship leader. The pilot Mercedes is off to a good start to his weekend where he will look to reproduce his performance from last year with a pole and a victory.

“I feel very strong this weekend, recognized Lewis Hamilton. I brought out my best game, especially with this incredibly fast turn. This track is truly superb. I keep saying race after race that my team is wonderful and it's a pleasure to drive for them. »

The Briton also equaled the pole record at Monza with five qualifying victories. This performance places him at the level of Juan Manuel Fangio and Ayrton Senna.

“I knew I could equal this pole record at Monza and I am proud to be at the level of Ayrton Senna and Juan Manuel Fangio. I never thought my name would be mentioned alongside theirs”, admitted the three-time world champion who will start with his teammate Nico Rosberg on soft tires unlike their direct opponents.
