The 103rd victory in Formula 1 de Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes) was not the easiest to pick up, far from it. Transcribe all the adventures which punctuated the Briton's Sunday evening in Jeddah (Saudi Arabia) would be equivalent to writing a novel!

In the lead until the first red flag triggered by the accident Mick Schumacher (Haas), the seven-time world champion was then eaten by his best rival Max Verstappen (Red Bull) when restarting from a standing start. The Dutchman having taken advantage of a passage off the circuit to grab first place, he was penalized during the second red flag and dropped back to 3rd place.

The third (and final) restart benefited Max Verstappen who dove inside; Lewis Hamilton was then second, but the latter did not let himself be counted out and launched an offensive a few laps later. The track marshals having little appreciated Max Verstappen's defense (exiting the track and saving time), the Dutchman's engineer asked him to let the Mercedes pass. This is where the turning point in the race came:

Finally returning to the lead later, Lewis Hamilton took an irremediable lead over Max Verstappen. Did you follow correctly? The winner had a hard time in any case!

“It was incredibly difficult today. I tried to be as respectful while remaining as tough as possible. I used all my experience to stay on the track and be clean. It was hard ", declared the wearer of No. 44 after the finish.

Concerning the clash with his opponent for the title, he adds: “I don't understand why he slammed on the brakes all of a sudden. I hit the back of his car and then he drove off. I was then told that he was slowing down to let me pass, it was confusing. »

We persevered as a team because a lot of things went against us in this second half of the season. I am very proud of the team. »

Apply the brakes in a straight line!!! Deja vu...Schumi/Hakinen/macao. I hope that Lewis (who is not my cup of tea, as a character) will be champion, because Max Grand pilot has moved into the little man category on the track....lamentable. My idol will remain Mr. Jimmy CLARK, idol of my youth. Etienne (NSU cup 1973)
