Hamilton: “I can get used to dominating”

After fighting an epic battle against his teammate Nico Rosberg at the Chinese Grand Prix, Lewis Hamilton remained out of reach of his opponents yesterday on the Shanghai circuit after making a good start from pole while second Mercedes got stuck in the peloton. “I couldn't be happier. I came here with the intention of not experiencing a race like in Bahrain even though I know that the public likes this type of competition. For my part, I prefer weekends like this. I think I delivered one of the best races of my career. It's true that there wasn't too much of a fight for the lead, but a driver always dreams of being able to control every moment. »

With his 25th Grand Prix victory, Lewis Hamilton equals Niki Lauda and Jim Clark while achieving a series of three consecutive victories for the first time. The Briton is aware that he holds the status of favorite despite being four points behind his teammate Nico Rosberg who retains the lead taking advantage of his teammate's retirement in Melbourne. “I can get used to dominating like that. The last victory was very different with the fight with my teammate, but in reality each race and each success is different. To say that it was a quiet weekend is only partly true as the rain on Saturday complicated the car's set-up. I'm not thinking about the Championship at all at the moment. I am satisfied with these three victories and I feel that I can improve with each race, I feel physically and mentally stronger than I have ever been. »
