Hamilton: luck has nothing to do with it

Lewis Hamilton et Mercedes hurt again Team Ferrari last weekend at the Singapore GP. On an urban route where Sebastian Vettel seemed to be able to reduce his delay on the Championship leader, it was the latter who won the victory to push his direct opponent back to 40 points with only 6 Grands Prix remaining.

“We surpass ourselves. If our true potential is 100, we set the bar at 102. If you had attended the meeting I had with the staff, you would have seen that the energy that emanates from the team really is a source of inspiration. They could let themselves go and tell themselves that we have already won together, but that is not the case., declared the potential five-time world champion.

If Lewis Hamilton benefited from Sebastian Vettel's missteps, he demonstrated insolent success by having missed the podium only three times this year and only having one retirement.

“I don’t think we were lucky, said the Mercedes driver. When Vettel hit the wall, damaging his car and losing running time, I don't think it was luck. I take a lot of pride in not putting myself in those kinds of situations. I know that my team counts on me as I count on them. We, the drivers, have a lot of pressure on our shoulders. »
