Ross Brawn preferred to leave Mercedes AMG F1 to leave his place as Team Principal to Paddy Lowe, the former technical director of McLaren. The famous British engineer has taken a break and remains vague about his future in the discipline, refusing even to state if he will return to a position in the sector. As F1 begins a new chapter in its history, the absence of the former Brackley team director could harm the star-studded brand.
However, Lewis Hamilton wants to reduce the impact of Ross Brawn's departure. “I had better reasons to join Mercedes compared to him. I think that was a bonus for him.", declared the 2008 world champion on TotalRace. “He was a good boss who had a very good approach and who created a great atmosphere within the team, but that’s what you expect from a leader. F1 will continue no matter who leaves. I therefore do not consider his departure as a loss for the discipline. »
