Hamilton: my maneuver on Rosberg was correct

Lewis Hamilton further consolidated his position as Championship leader at the Japanese GP by winning at Suzuka after taking the advantage over his teammate Nico Rosberg who started from pole. The double world champion immediately attacked the German in the first corner. The German driver fell to fourth place after going onto the grass to avoid contact and could only return to second place to offer a one-two finish to Mercedes.

“I don’t feel like it was that tight. The inner trajectory is what it is, this was my turn », declared Lewis Hamilton at a press conference. “We were very close, we had understeer and we were lacking grip. Nico went off the road, but that's what happens when you're outside. »

Lewis Hamilton is also moved to match Ayrton Senna's performance by signing his 41st victory in F1. “I loved watching Ayrton ride and achieve success.
