Hamilton: engine from China still valid

SI Lewis Hamilton will have a new Power Unit at the Russian Grand Prix contested on May 1 in Sochi, it will also be able to count on its old engine from Shanghai which was nevertheless the victim of an ERS problem. Mercedes analyzed the 6l turbo/hybrid V1.6 and changed the turbo and oil pumps after spotting debris in the system.

“I was thinking about lots of things after China, as you can imagine”, commented Lewis Hamilton who is 36 points behind his teammate Nico Rosberg after three races. “But, after all these years, experience has taught me to stay calm and keep moving forward. I've been in this situation a few times before. I have full confidence in the team and many things can happen in the next 18 races. »

Lewis Hamilton managed to move up to seventh place at the Chinese GP despite a collision at the start. The three-time world champion will arrive with confidence in Sochi where he is the winner of the first two editions.

“I know after a few races that I can still overtake. I had a good start in China and I hope to start my next races on a better basis. I won twice in Russia and the track seems to suit me”, underlined the Briton.
