Hamilton no longer thought about pole at the Austrian GP

Lewis Hamilton offered himself a new pole this season at the Austrian GP despite an error made in Q3 which could well have pushed him back to second position. While he had just started a new attempt, the double world champion went into a spin at the first turn and ended his session in the gravel trap.

"Jhe wasn't really thinking about pole at this moment. I was just trying not to stall.”, explained the Austrian GP pole sitter. “I was trying to push more and I just locked my rear wheels. There car was my main concern… but I thought I was probably going to lose my first position. »

It was without counting on Nico Rosberg's mistake who went off the track in the last corner while he was ahead of his teammate. “I was doing really bad qualifying. I was 3 or 4 tenths behind Nico in each session and even in each lap. I was not comfortable with the balance and with the tire and brake temperatures”, said the Briton.
