Hamilton: “Maybe a different format” in Monaco

In the narrow streets of Monaco, the top 6 of the event took part in a real procession yesterday. Only the mechanical alert on the RB14 Daniel Ricciardo at a time creates suspense over the final result of the test.

If further back in the peloton, Max Verstappen (Red Bull) somewhat livened up the debates, the 2018 Monaco Grand Prix was clearly not the most competitive edition on the track.

Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes) admitted after arrival that the proposed show was, according to him, not not in agreement with what represents one of the flagship rounds of the season due to its history and its location.

The reigning world champion imagines potential scenarios to try to restore more suspense to one of the historic events of the discipline. "There's no place like it, but I think la Formula 1 must apply a different rule or program or something like that, believes Hamilton, cited by ESPN.

I told Prince Albert the other day that perhaps it is time to extend [the circuit]. We're shooting in 1'11" here. There are more roads. Would we change this beautiful track to make it even better?

Maybe it should be a different format. You shouldn't be able to make just one save because it's less exciting for the fans, there has to be more variation, but I don't know what. It's just the best track. Maybe we need two races here, who knows »
