Lewis Hamilton wins the Japanese GP ahead of his teammate Nico Rosberg. Sebastian Vettel completes the podium.

Hamilton returns to success at the Japanese GP

Lewis Hamilton built his victory at the start of the Japanese GP by taking the advantage over the pole sitter Nico Rosberg in the first turn. If the German managed to secure the double at Mercedes after falling to fourth place, his deficit on the Championship leader increased to 48 points with five races remaining in the season.

Sebastian Vettel (Ferrari) wins a new podium by beating his teammate Kimi Räikkönen. Valtteri Bottas (Williams) had to settle for fifth place in front Nico Hulkenberg (Force India) author of a superb comeback from 13th position. The German took the advantage over the Lotuses of Romain Grosjean et Pastor Maldonado, while the Toro Rosso de Max Verstappen et Carlos Sainz Jr complete the top ten.

Fernando Alonso (McLaren) failed at the points gate. Felipe Nasr (Sauber) was the only driver to retire. Red Bull had a nightmare weekend. Daniil Kvyat took only 13th place after starting from the pits while Daniel Ricciardo is only 15th after hanging on at the start with Felipe Massa (Williams), 17th at the finish.
