Hamilton responds to Rosberg's remarks about his inconsistency

The German, who has just joined Sky Sports as a consultant F1, recently spoke at the microphone of his new employer on the procedure to follow to beat Hamilton, as he did in 2016 after a fierce struggle and after four years in the same stable.

« Lewis has the fault of being a little fickle, declared Rosberg, who took a surprise retirement in the wake of his world title. He happens to not be in the loop. If you are able to really take advantage of it, then you can keep the advantage for longer. You absolutely have to take your chance at this moment and Sebastian (Hag, editor's note) did it well last year. »

Asked about these comments during the traditional FIA pre-Grand Prix press conference in Melbourne, Hamilton brushed them aside.

« I think I proved last year that inconsistency is not a problem, declared the Briton, author of nine victories in 2017. There are a lot of people looking to create buzz and this is a good way to do it. The goal this season is to be even more consistent. Regularity is undoubtedly the main ingredient of my fourth title."
