Hamilton remains focused despite the 'Paradise Papers' affair

The beautiful end of the year Lewis Hamilton who celebrated his fourth world title at the Mexican GP was tarnished by the “Paradise Papers” affair. Pilot's name Mercedes was named in the case as being accused of tax evasion. The Briton would have acquired a luxury caravan and a private jet without having paid VAT thanks to a clever system allowing him to register his acquisitions in a tax haven, in this case the Isle of Man.

Asked to comment on the matter during a press conference in Sao Paulo which is hosting the Brazilian GP this weekend, Lewis Hamilton assured that he remained focused on his season with Mercedes.

“I shared these great moments with my family and friends who brought me a great positive wave. I'm just focused on this weekend's race and we have two more to go. It doesn’t distract me from my true values and what I have to do.”, declared the reigning world champion.

Lewis Hamilton would thus have avoided a bill of more than 3,45 million euros on the purchase of his private jet.
