Hamilton is happy with it

Lewis Hamilton is one of the most prominent drivers at the end of this season. Formula 1. Winner in Hungary and Singapore, the reigning world champion started at Suzuka from third place on the grid. Particularly thanks to his SREC, the Briton got off to a good start, grabbing second place. “ I tried to get the best start possible, commented Hamilton after the race. I had a great battle, full of commitment, with Jarno (Trulli). Sebastian had a very good race and he was unreachable. I knew on the other hand that Jarno was in the game and that it was going to be played out with him. I was doing well in sector no. 2 but I was losing time in the last one. »

Lewis Hamilton thought he would open up a sufficient gap on Jarno Trulli to win. But in the second stint, the Italian was able to keep the world champion in his sights, before overtaking him thanks to faster refueling. “ I lost my SREC just before the second refueling, I could no longer use it, which represents three to four tenths per lap, Hamilton justifies himself. For me, it was over and it was becoming too difficult to defend my second place. I had a three-second lead at that point, and I must have lost a second until the refueling point. That?s why we had to let second place slip away. »

With his third place, however, Lewis Hamilton allows McLaren to take a point Ferrari with a view to third place in the constructors' championship. The Prancing Horse stable is only two points ahead of the Woking firm. In terms of the drivers' standings, Lewis Hamilton is only two points behind Kimi Räikkönen.
