Hamilton betrayed by his ERS in Shanghai

Lewis Hamilton will start from last position at the Chinese Grand Prix after being unable to set a single time in Q1. The pilot Mercedes had to return to the pits prematurely following a failure of his ERS causing him to lose power.

“I realized it as soon as I came out of the pits. It's unfortunate, but the best thing to do is to learn from it.", commented the three-time world champion in the paddock of the Shanghai circuit. “The team is going to be as disgusted as I am. We need to fix the problem and make sure it doesn't happen again on either car. »

The Briton hopes to achieve the same feat as some comebacks achieved last year, although the task will not be easy at the Chinese Grand Prix.

“You can overtake here, but the tires don't last that long. It may not be as easy in this race, but nothing is done yet”, recalled the Mercedes driver.

Lewis Hamilton will see his teammate Nico Rosberg start from pole. The reigning world champion was already sentenced to a five-place penalty for a gearbox change following his collision with Valtteri Bottas at the Bahrain Grand Prix.
