Hamilton: Too hard to catch Perez

While McLaren acted as the favorite team after the Australian Grand Prix while the Team had to face a car disappointing, Lewis Hamilton had to bow to the F2012 of Fernando Alonso and the modest C31 of Sergio Perez. The Briton took another third place after starting from pole, but remains satisfied with his result. “I think we can be satisfied. Fernando and Sergio were fantastic today and it was very difficult to catch them”, admits the McLaren driver. “We would have liked to take more points this weekend, but I can't complain about being on the podium for the second time in a row. »

Lewis Hamilton lost time in the pits following a jack problem, but it was mainly his lack of responsiveness to tire changes that failed him. “It was really a very intense race”, he adds. “We had to find the right time to switch from rain tires to mediums. We were probably a little late in making the decision. We had to choose to take the risk with the weather forecast (which announced other showers) and the others took it a little earlier. We also lost a little time in our pit stops. It was hard to come back from a 12-second delay. »
