Hamilton finds Verstappen's remarks 'amusing'

The 2020 season has not yet started and we are already starting to get excited, with speckled florets.

A few weeks ago, Max Verstappen opened the ball by flirting with the crime of lèse-majesté against his Lordship Lewis Hamilton. " He's very good, he's one of the very best, but he's not God, then confided the cheeky pilot Red Bull. God may be with him, but he is not God ". Barely veiled reference to the recurring preachings of the six-time world champion, always quick to bless his neighbor.

Asked about the barbs of his Dutch rival ahead of the shakedown the new Mercedes W11 at Silverstone, Hamilton found them “ fun. I always preferred to respond on track. I tend to interpret these kinds of reactions as a sign of weakness. ».

The Briton was visibly in a jovial mood at Silverstone where his teammate Valtteri Bottas released the new creation of Brackley

« At this time of year there is no real pressure, confided Hamilton. We are here to have fun. We are of course very focused but we are making the most of the moment. The guys worked hard again over the winter to bring the car to life and there are only 2 of us who have the privilege of driving it. It's pretty incredible.

This is my 8th season with the team and the enthusiasm is still the same. It would be natural to take things cool, but everyone is already on deck, pumped up, and ready to set off on an adventure again. ».

In 2020, Mercedes is launching an assault on a new Everest and will try to remain undefeated in the hybrid era, while Lewis Hamilton can enter a little more into posterity by equaling the 7 titles and 91 victories of Michael Schumacher
