Hamilton: “A brilliant result”

Lewis Hamilton finished the first race of the season in second position. The pilot McLaren never seemed able to get the Red Bull de Sebastian Vettel, but the Briton remains confident for the rest of the season. “Second position is a great result,” enthuses Hamilton. The car was fantastic, really nice to drive and I was able to save my tires the whole race. Being able to put pressure on Sebastian this early in the season is very encouraging. I really think we were competitive enough today to aim for victory. With a better start we could have been in the fight. We can be happy. I don't know what happened to the flat bottom, but it looked very damaged. I'm happy to have been able to finish the race. »

Lewis Hamilton expects improvements for the next grand prix in Malaysia in 15 days. “I'm looking forward to seeing what improvements we can make in the next race. Engineers know where we can get more performance to gain. I think we can fight for victory at Sepang. »
