Hamilton wins ahead of Rosberg

Lewis Hamilton wins his fifth victory of the season in six races by winning the Hungarian Grand Prix at the Hungaroring for the fifth time. The pilot Mercedes took the lead of the race by passing his teammate Nico Rosberg at the first corner. The German was never able to worry the Briton and could only be content to offer another double to Mercedes. The three-time world champion thus takes the lead in the Championship with a six-point lead over Nico Rosberg.

Daniel Ricciardo (Red Bull) won his third podium in a row on the Budapest circuit after anticipating his second stop. The Australian resisted attacks from Sebastian Vettel (Ferrari), while Max Verstappen (Red Bull) did the same with Kimi Räikkönen (Ferrari) sixth. The Dutchman resisted energetically against the 2007 world champion, the two drivers even touching each other following a sudden change of direction by the winner of the Spanish Grand Prix. There Team Ferrari now only has a one point lead over Red Bull.

Fernando Alonso (McLaren) secures the points for seventh place, while teammate Jenson Button was the only driver to retire after experiencing brake problems and mechanical issues.

Carlos Sainz Jr. (Toro Rosso) follows in eighth position ahead Valtteri Bottas (Williams) and Nico Hulkenberg (ForceIndia). Romain Grosjean (Haas) finished in 14th place.
