Lewis Hamilton had not really appreciated seeing the squads change at the start of the season with those of Nico Rosberg, but the three-time world champion seems to have since gotten used to it. The pilot Mercedes expressed the wish to keep his mechanics for the 2017 season where he will face a new teammate, the German having decided to retire.
“I will talk to Toto (Wolff, the executive chairman of Mercedes F1) and I'll tell him I don't want my guys changed, explained Lewis Hamilton on Channel 4. I want to keep all my engineers, there is not a single person who deserves to leave. I'm committed and I hope they are too. I am now their only world champion and I hope they will respect and appreciate my commitment next year. »
Valtteri Bottas and Pascal Wehrlein seem to be the preferred candidates to evolve with Lewis Hamilton at Mercedes F1 next year. The Finn has taken the lead since Felipe Massa reportedly signs new contract with Williams.
