Hamilton wants to make a difference at the start

Lewis Hamilton had to attack as much as possible to win the first line on the Russian GP grid. The pilot Mercedes preceded Sebastian Vettel (Ferrari) by 23 thousandths to place itself between the Ferraris of Charles Leclerc and German.

“These qualifications were difficult, recognized the five-time world champion. The Ferraris had such a difference in straight line performance. They are far beyond what we could have imagined. Our team responded well to respond. I didn't expect to find myself on the front line. »

Lewis Hamilton hopes to take advantage of his good position on the grid to overtake the pole sitter when the lights go out.

“The Ferraris have the power and the grip. We have been after them all these last races. We had to find another strategy and we will try to make the difference by taking Charles' slipstream to overtake him before the first turn thanks to the long straight,” announced the Mercedes driver.

Lewis Hamilton has not won since the Hungarian GP but maintains an insolent lead in the championship.
